Overview

The City of Oceanside Parks and Recreation Department provides scholarships for qualifying low income Oceanside Residents. The new scholarship program will increase the annual scholarship allocation to $300 per child with an additional $250 per child allocated specifically for summer camps. Each child in a family that meets the income limits will have access to $550 per year for scholarships. The intent is to provide each child with sufficient scholarship funds to participate in after school programming and 2 weeks of summer camp, but each family will have the flexibility to register for any Parks and Recreation Department program they select. If a child prefers to only register for camp, they can use all $550 in scholarships to attend summer camp.

How To Apply

The City accepts scholarship applications electronically and in person at the Parks and Recreation Department Administration office, located at 300 North Coast Highway, as well as recreation centers, senior centers, and aquatic facilities. Once a child is approved for a scholarship, the funds will be applied in the child’s account and the family can choose how to use the scholarship funds.
