Age-Friendly Action Plan

The City of Oceanside joined the AARP Age-Friendly Network on April 7, 2024. The City is working with the Center for Excellence in Aging & Longevity at the San Diego State University Social Policy Institute to develop a 5-year action plan. The City hosted several listening and action planning sessions  to gather community input about needs and priorities that would make Oceanside more livable.  This 5-year action plan was developed based on information gathered during the public outreach.

Spring Egg Hunt

The Annual Spring Egg Hunt will be on Saturday, April 4, from 9am - 12pm, at Mance Buchanon Park.

 FREE event for kids up to 11 years old!

Bring your own egg basket or bag, and arrive early for fun activities, bunny photos and a chance to win a prize. Free parking is available at Mance Buchanon Park. We hope to see you there!

Event Timeline:

9:00am – 9:30am | Early Activities & Toddler Hunt

  • Egg Hunt for Ages 2 & Under – Little ones collect empty eggs and trade them at the VIP booth for a candy bag.

  • Bunny Photos (first session)

  • Temporary Tattoos Craft Booth Begins (ends at 10:30am)

  • Bounce House opens for continuous play

10:00am SHARP | Main Egg Hunt for Ages 3–11

  • Kids 3–11 participate in the main hunt.

  • No parents allowed on the field.

10:10am – 10:30am | Bunny Photos (final session)

  • Last chance for festive bunny photos before the magic show begins.

10:15am – 10:25am | All Egg-bilities Hunt

  • Begins promptly at 10:15am. Designed for children up to 11 years old with adaptive needs.

  • Parents may assist their child.

  • Music will be turned off during this time.

10:30am – 11:00am | Magic Show

  • A fun, family-friendly performance to entertain all kids.

11:00am – 12:00pm | Bounce House Festivities

  • Bounce house fun continues for the remainder of the event.
